Here is the beginning. I am hopeful that this blog provides some degree of stimulation and generates some interest (and contributions) by many people . I would ask that we self-analyze and weigh issues on their own merits, their subimplications and subsequent recursive effects; whether they be secondary or primary, direct or indirect.
I would ask that we consider several important topics. As things unfold it will, I am sure, come down to philosophy and timescale. Over what interval of time and for whom do we wish to make a better world for? Who has what rights to do what to whom (or what) to what end and by what means?
I will argue that this is a grand thinking "computer" by any reasonable definition and therefore the "computer" however diverse and organized is nonetheless subject to all the rules of logic and physics that are in place (understood and poorly understood by whatever subsystem wishes to claim such).
Set aside your own personal convictions and agenda. Recognize that this is not about you or me. It is about the sum of the parts over time, evolving, growing and changing. Each component of the machine is just that and the value of each part likely has an intrinsic value and an extrinsic value which changes over time. You cannot however escape your own role and responsibilities.
I reserve the right to not erase offensive perspectives and comments becuase it likely reflects the vast noise in the true clear signal of righteousness and truth. Ultimately The Truth will emerge regardless of the noise level beneath it. The system does self-optimize as a complete machine with all parts fully functional. We are all of us growing and developing. Part of the learning process is the recognition by others of this negativity and the subsequent action that such negativity creates to correct the defective component. The most destructive process would be a process of the removal of communication and interaction between the parts of the thinking network. Silence is the sound of entropy and spells the end of the machine.
With that start I invite statements of position to optimize the dignity of humankind. What states of action optimize the system for continued improvement? What behavior subsets and actions are required to develop a sustainable model for a better, expanding and ever growing human world?
